I would like to get some idea how you did that, if possible?? The thought of 0.9 ohm single heads is very appealing, might even have to keep my Zephyrus.
How do the stock coil heads separate? Sharp tap with an old chisel, or blade, on the join?

Simply pull out the metal pin and rubber insulator in the bottom. Same as Evod style coils, there wide access from the top to put in new wicked coils, the ceramic base has holes to pass the coil leads through. Sorry no picks but Im vaping on it.

So, just build the coil, with long legs, wick it and drop it down from the top, one leg either side of the rubber grommet?

Yes but theres 3 holes in the ceramic, one leg through a small hole and one through the larger hole.

2.7mm 26G 5 wraps spaced, think a wider diameter 24G might be better though.

You've given me the push--if it makes the Zephyrus vapable again for me--it is well worth the effort, thanks Mack.

I cleaned it all out over the weekend and was preparing to put it up for sale--you might have given it a new lease of life for me...cheers. Anything that makes an RTA/RBA whatever become usable and not a Sale item is a win, seeing as how much cash we lose when selling them--just saw the Zephy on EFun Top site--down in price Bigtime, second hand value took a nose dive.

Have you tried to put a 0.9ohms dual coil @haybilly ? That is what I have on it, it works nicely.

I guess that the cotton that surrounds the ceramic stays in place also?
    **Updated**
Its too late to Edit my last comment--what I was saying is...there is the wicking material, which comes out with the coils, but, surrounding the ceramic cup is some kind of fibre [cotton, I hope?] and this does not want to come out--so, does this and the ceramic cup stay in place during the process??
    **Updated**
Oops--it has been put in as an edit, even better.
